    Products and materials

White plantation shutters fitted to a residential window01

    Plantation shutters

Custom-measured basswood, composite or vinyl panels, built to the opening.

Basswood takes a painted or stained finish and suits most rooms. Poly composite goes where there is steam or standing damp — bathrooms, kitchens, west-facing glass. Vinyl is the budget line. Louver size decides how much of the view you keep once the panels are open.

Roller and cellular window shades in a living space02

    Shades

Roller, cellular and Roman shades. Motorized where an opening is hard to reach.

Cellular shades hold air inside the pleat, which is why they go on the windows that make a room hard to keep comfortable. Roller shades suit sliding doors and wide spans. Roman shades put fabric back into a room that reads too hard. Cordless operation is available where there are children in the house.

Wood and faux wood blinds fitted to windows03

    Blinds

Wood, faux wood, aluminum and vertical blinds, cut to the opening.

Faux wood holds its shape in kitchens and bathrooms where real wood moves. Real wood sits alongside existing joinery. Aluminum works in slim frames and tight reveals. Verticals cover sliders and wide runs without stacking into the view.
